Official opening of the IARU Region 1 conference in Cavtat

The conference was officially announced opened by Mr. Kreso Antonovic, director of the electronic communications and postal service directorate of the Ministry of sea, transport and infrastructure. He welcomed the delegates, and said thathe hopes the conference will be productive and that will make the amater union stronger.

On the ceremony of opening, there were Mr. Miljenko Krvisek, vice-president of Croatian agency  for post and electronic communications, Mrs. Mira Buconic, County Mayor of Dubrovnik-Neretva county, Mr. Andrej Sardelic from Croatian Posts as well as president of Croatian Association of Technological Culture for Dubrovnik region Mr. Blazenko Dujakovic.

Croatian Amateur Radio Association president, Kresimir Kovarik (9A5K), welcomed everyone and wished them successfull work on the conference.

IARU R1 president, Ole Garpestad (LA2RR) said: "I'm happy to see that we have big number of delegates in Cavtat that represent over 45 countries in IARU R1. This will enhance our discussions and give all the documents a stronger meaning."
